As you read in our previous news, we joined forces with the BLOOM Project (website) to organise a free event on Critical Raw Materials, that took place in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow on Sunday 14th September 2025, from 9 AM to 3 PM.

We discussed the topic “Primary and Secondary Raw Materials: how can Europe reduce scarcity risks and boost the Green Transition” in a format that comprised three parts: four “Scenario” presentations by invited speakers, ten “Research and Innovation Contributes” from research and industrial projects, and a final Round Table on “CRM Act and 2030: where are we?”, moderated by Marko Komac (from the BLOOM project).

In fact, we started by comparing the policies of three different but connected areas, that is EU, UK and USA, and then reviewed the activities of the projects present to mitigate scarcity risks for Critical Raw Materials and promote the Green Transition. The discussion continued in the Round Table where some details on the situation of many different countries was analysed.

If we could condense the discussion into one single sentence, it would probably be something like: “We need more action for the CRM, we need it now and it must be quick, efficient and coherent!

We had about 30 participants, and there was a fair amount of Q&A throughout the workshop, that continued in the breaks, and created the chance of further common activities in the future.

The full footage of the workshop (well, coffee breaks and lunches excluded, of course) is now available on the RESQTOOL YouTube channel. We created a playlist so that you have all three videos (one per part). You can access it here: RESQTOOL/BLOOM Workshop 2025 Playlist

Do not forget to leave a “thumbs up” and comment if you like the workshop (or even if you do not). And subscribe to our channel!
